The standard loaf of wheat bread in my breadbox advertises 19 slices of bread. But we all know that everyone throws away the 2 end pieces. That’s more than 10% of the loaf!

Is this an economic conspiracy by bakeries? Maybe they know how to create a loaf with no end pieces, but they are not releasing this breakthrough on the world because their profits would drop by 10% as people were able to use their loaves for a whole extra sandwich before buying more.

I smell a rat…and it smells like baking bread!
