Maybe our broken U.S. healthcare system accidentally serves to provide checks-and-balances against hypochondriacs going to the doctor all the time.

There are many times I just suffer through whatever ails me because it’s way too big a pain in the ass to get a doctor to look at me. It’s not worth the hours of waiting in an ER, missed time at work, annoying (best case) and broken (normal case) insurance billing, etc.

Perhaps the system isn’t so broken after all. The cost of receiving care is so high, I’m well incentivized to stay healthy, for which the system should get some sort of back-handed credit, I suppose.
