There are two natural types of productive people. The creators and the cleaners.

The Creators are inventors. They model from scratch, from raw-materials. They attack green-field problems. They prefer no-limits creativity, fueled by imagination and vision, and they use the basic tools God gave them, their hands, minds, and whatever is on the workbench in front of them.

The Cleaners prefer a maze with lines, a puzzle with boundaries, and creativity through constraints. They reorganize and re-factor. They are fluent in all the available tools at their disposal, and pick the right tool for the cleanup at hand.

There is a symbiotic relationship between these groups. Without the creators, the cleaners would have nothing to do. Without the cleaners, the creators would never be able to scale or grow their creations.

I, personally, am a cleaner.
